Whispering Horse Winery

Built on a generational family horse-ranch in the Chilliwack River Valley, the land is an important piece of the family AND the wine they produce. As the only winery in the Fraser Valley to make their wine with 100% estate grown grapes, we wanted to make sure the story of the land was represented in the labels. The original horse logo (made of leaves) is placed at the bottom right hand corner of the label. We continued the leaves in a rough pattern diagonally across the label to represent a rocky riverbed and a mountain-scape, as the winery lies along the Vedder river, nestled in between the Chilliwack mountains.

Since this was a Sparkling Wine series set to release pre-Christmas 2019, and needed to reflect the higher price point, a custom gold champagne topper and going foil were chosen to elevate the overall design.

Finally, the client asked for a design that would be modern yet timeless, and fit in with its natural surroundings. The colours of sand and clay, the texture of the label, and the graphic elements all came together to create a simple, rich solution.
